Social & Scientific Systems (SSS), and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) have partnered to create the STAR Sexually Transmitted Infections Clinical Trials Group (STI CTG), headed by Jeffrey Klausner, M.D., M.P.H., a leader in the field of sexually transmitted infections, and funded by the Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (DMID) at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases(NIAID) within the National Institutes of Health. The mission of the NIAID DMID STI program is to foster, develop, and administer a research program that will contribute to human reproductive health and specifically lead to the prevention and control of sexually transmitted infections.
